چکیده
Coffee plays an important role in the global economy, human health and society. It is one of major cash crops constituting backbone Nigerian economy before emergence re-emergence petroleum oil. Molecular markers are reliable valuable tool for analyzing polymorphism, screening selection desirable genotypes breeding programs. The study aimed at determining genetic diversity among coffee genotypes. Fifty (Coffea spp) collected from Cocoa Research Institute Nigeria (CRIN) germplasm were assessed using 12 simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers. findings revealed that polymorphic information content (PIC) ranged between 0.311 0.882 with average 0.545. gene (0.602) was high Unweighted Pair Group Method Analysis arithmetic averages (UPGMA) dendrogram grouped into four clusters subclusters. results levels polymorphism indicating confirm uniqueness

Identification of Linked Markers for Delayed Fruit Ripening in Tomato Using Simple Sequence Repeat (SSR) Markers
Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) is an important vegetable crop and acts as model plant for fruit development studies. Besides that, post-harvest damage is a devastating phenomenon often associated with ripening process in tomato which in turn leads to greater yield loss. Understanding the genetics, molecular and biochemical pathways is the key to overcome the existing situation. In th...

This study was conducted to identify and recognize relations and diversity among accessions of the Iranianpears (Pyrus spp). A total of 34 pear accessions, derived presumably from at least six species, were subjected to simple sequence repeat (SSR) analysis. The Japanese and the Chinese pear samples were; “Housui” and “Yali” cultivars, example of Pyrus pyrifolia and P. bretschneideri, respectiv...
متن کاملGenetic Diversity Analysis of Maize Hybrids Through Morphological Traits and Simple Sequence Repeat Markers
Comparing different methods of estimating the genetic diversity could define their usefulness in plant breeding programs. In this study, a total of 18 morphological traits and 20 simple sequence repeat (SSR) loci were used to study the morphological and genetic diversity among 20 maize hybrids selected from different countries, and to classify the hybrids into groups based on molecular profiles...
متن کاملGenetic diversity analysis of Bt cotton genotypes in Pakistan using simple sequence repeat markers.
The popularity of genetically modified insect resistant (Bt) cotton has promoted large scale monocultures, which is thought to worsen the problem of crop genetic homogeneity. Information on genetic diversity among Bt cotton varieties is lacking. We evaluated genetic divergence among 19 Bt cotton genotypes using simple sequence repeat (SSR) markers. Thirty-seven of 104 surveyed primers were...
متن کاملGenetic diversity analysis of groundnut genotypes using SSR markers
Groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.), an important oilseed crop is a rich source of oil and protein. Molecular marker technologies are the effective tools and they are used for the assessment of genetic variability because they are not influenced by the environment. Among the molecular markers, Simple Sequence Repeat (SSR) has proved to be the most powerful tool for variety identification in groundn...
